Team Rubicon Transitions Faulkner County Disaster Relief Role to Arkansas Dream Center
posted over 6 years ago by Bobbi from Team Rubicon
In an effort to notify the public of Faulkner County volunteer management efforts, Team Rubicon and Arkansas Dream Center jointly report the following:
Team Rubicon was tasked by the Faulkner County Judge’s Office to conduct volunteer management in support of expedient home repair and residential debris removal in the wake of the devastating EF-4 tornado which struck the county on April 27th.
Since May 1, Team Rubicon has accounted for the following activity: 10,195 volunteers managed, 39,000+ documented volunteer hours, 637 residential assessments, 137 work orders generated, 129 work orders completed/closed.
Beginning on May 30 and continuing through June 2, Team Rubicon will redeploy all personnel back to their home of record, and all assets back to our regional service center.
This will allow our regional leadership to refit personnel and consolidate resources in preparation for deployment to other natural disasters throughout the globe.
On Saturday, May 31, the Arkansas Dream Center will assume the role currently filled by Team Rubicon. This includes the management of, accounting for, and reporting of all volunteer activity within their control. The AR Dream Center will also assume responsibility for completing all residual Team Rubicon debris-removal work orders.
On Friday, May 30, Team Rubicon and AR Dream Center participated in a press conference hosted by the Faulkner County Judge, Allen Dodson. This event formally announced the aforementioned transition to the public, and take place at the historic Faulkner County Courthouse, located at 801 Locust Street.
Team Rubicon wishes to express our deepest condolences to the family members of those whose lives were lost to this terrible storm, and our sincerest sympathies to everyone affected. It has been an honor to serve on their behalf this month, and the friends we’ve made and the memories of service we’ll share with the residents of Faulkner County will be with us forever.
Team Rubicon would like to extend our appreciation to the following local agencies and partners, without whom our efforts would not have been possible:
